Take That Spare Tire: Weight Loss Made Simple [Proven!]
Lasting weight loss can sometimes seem unattainable. Good intentions aren’t always enough to overcome the frustration of those sore muscles from your first workouts. How do you determine the key to successful weight loss?
Determining exactly what you want to achieve from your weight loss efforts should be your first step. In your mind’s eye, what do you want your future to look like because you have lost weight? Do you want to drop a size or two? Is there a number you hope to see next time you weigh in? Do you just want a healthier body?
It’s important to keep track of your progress every week. Be sure to weigh yourself weekly and create a journal. Add a food diary to your journal, and be sure to list your food intake throughout each day. By physically recording what you eat, you will be more self aware and perhaps more discerning in your dietary choices.
It is best to shop for and prepare food when you are full. When our bodies feel as if they are starving, it’s much too easy to make poor food choices. To prevent making poor decisions, keep healthy snacks handy, and put some advance thought into your meal preparations. Pack a lunch rather than dining out. Home cooking not only benefits your checkbook, but it also allows you to eat things you want that are actually healthy for you.
A successful weight loss program consists of proper eating habits along with regular exercise. Is important to make sure you enjoy the workouts that you are doing a couple of times a week. Choosing a workout that you genuinely enjoy can make your exercise time a priority in your schedule instead of something you forget about. Is spending time with your buddies important? Take them on in a game of basketball. Is letting your hair down something that you enjoy doing? Hit a Jazzercise class! Do you escape life by going out into nature? Hit those hiking trails!
Make sure your home, work-space, and any other area you frequent is free from unhealthy snack items. It may seem drastic, but if it isn’t available, then you can’t eat it. Make healthy choices wherever you are eating, be it your home, office, or elsewhere. Be prepared for sudden snack attacks by having plenty of ready-to-eat foods on hand, such as carrot and celery sticks, fruit, seeds and other nutritious treats.
Ask your friends to give you support. Even though it is down to you to lose the weight, remember that your family and friends can offer encouragement, especially when you feel like giving up. When you are fatigued, irritated or just need some positive reinforcement, it’s great to have friends that you call. These friends can help you stay motivated.
