Ask yourself whether you want some extra energy, or just to feel like you are in better shape.


Record your weekly progress. It’s a good idea to keep track of this in a weekly diary so you can compare from week to week. Use the same book to keep track of the food you consume. You should write down each thing you eat; this will hold you accountable for your daily food intake. The act of writing things down may well diminish your desire for excess food.


When you are famished, it is not good to decide what you are going to eat. Plan your meals in advance to avoid temptation, and always make sure you have healthy snacks ready. Bringing your own lunch is healthier and cheaper.


Eating healthy meals and snacks is one part of your weight loss program – frequent exercise is the other. Although some find it fairly straightforward to eat healthily, pursuing a good workout regimen is more of a challenge. Look for ways to make this easier, such as asking a friend to join you in your workout or switching your routine to an activity you find pleasurable. Always keep healthy snacks, such as fruits and veggies, available. If you get rid of all of the unhealthy choices you will not be able to eat them.


Enlist your friends to give you assistance. It has to be your decision to take the steps needed to lose weight. However, support from your friends and family can make this difficult task much easier. When you are fatigued, irritated or just need some positive reinforcement, it’s great to have friends that you call. These friends can help you stay motivated.
