It’s not hard to forget your motivation for getting fit when obstacles arise. The first few steps of your journey may have been easy, but you soon find yourself on rockier terrain. You see other people being successful in their drive and determination, and you wonder how you can get that for yourself. How do they lose weight and keep it off?
Initially, plan exactly what you hope to achieve with your weight loss regimen. Is one of your goals to fit into a specific size of attire? Do you want to reach a certain goal weight? Is your goal to simply get in shape and live a healthier life?
Record your weekly progress. Write your weight in a journal so you can keep track of it. Record what you eat in the same book. Record what you eat each day, so you can stay accountable. Sometimes, just knowing you have to write it down makes it less likely that you will want to consume it.
Don’t allow yourself to skip meals, as this only makes you more likely to make bad decisions when it comes to food. The best thing you can do is keep to a food schedule and avoid this. Spend a day planning and preparing your meals for the entire week. When you are going to be away from home, be sure to bring them with you. Create your own home-cooked meals beforehand. It’s a good choice for not only your body, but also your bank account.
Eating right and keeping up to your regular exercise regimen is the best way to lose weight. Rather than aiming for exercising daily and burning out, try to schedule 3 or four workouts a week. If working out is boring to you, start taking fun things you already enjoy and see how you can mix a bit of exercise with it. If you have a love for dance, take a dance class to add spice to your workout.
If you only have healthy foods at home then that is what you can expect to eat. Keep healthy foods on hands in your kitchen instead. Choose things like fresh fruits and vegetables, hummes and granola. Quit purchasing items you know are detrimental to your diet plan. Challenge yourself not to purchase tempting foods in the first place.
Enlist the aid of your friends and family members. You have to do the heavy lifting yourself, but there’s nothing like a support network to keep you motivated to lose weight. These are the people you should lean on when you are right on the brink of giving up. Friends can support you throughout your journey.
