Keep a food journal in which you write down all the things you eat, along with the calorie content of each meal. Snacks and beverages should be included as well. Recording things will help you be more conscious of your decisions.


If you’re hungry, don’t make rash decisions in regards to food. When our bodies feel as if they are starving, it’s much too easy to make poor food choices. To prevent making poor decisions, keep healthy snacks handy, and put some advance thought into your meal preparations. Bring your lunch instead of going out to eat. This will help you with two very worthwhile goals – losing weight and saving money!


Eating right and keeping up to your regular exercise regimen is the best way to lose weight. Exercising at least 3 times a week is great, while exercising every day is not essential. Make exercise fun if you are bored with it. For instance, if dancing is your thing, how about signing up for a dance class?


You can avoid eating junk by not keeping it around. Keep your kitchen empty of junk food. If it is not laying around then you will not eat it. Make sure you have easy access to healthy foods instead. Green leafy vegetables, fresh fruits, and granola are all healthy snacks. If you have certain foods that you always seem to overindulge in then you need to avoid buying those. If it is very inconvenient to access these kinds of foods, you will be far less likely to eat them.


Ask your friends to become your support system as you try to lose weight. Even though it is still ultimately up to you to lose weight, their support can be a great source of motivation. If you have a coach or a mentor, it makes it easier to avoid quitting when you are tired or feeling down. When you need a little pep talk, pick up the phone and talk to a friend. They can give you the advice and assistance you need to overcome any problem and get back on track to achieving your weight loss goal.
