Having to stare your progress (or lack thereof) in the face is one way to keep yourself on track. Keep a diary off all the food you eat each month. Keep a running tally on your daily food intake to maintain success in your caloric allotment. Keep your weekly weight losses or gains in this journal, as well. Being able to look back on your progress by means of a graph is a great way to stay on track with your weight loss.


Keep healthy snacks with you in case you get hungry during the day to prevent yourself from slipping up. If you do not have anything healthy on hand to satisfy your hunger, you may find yourself eating fast food. Plan ahead for your meals. Take a bagged lunch with you. It can really save you a lot of money.


Every successful and healthful weight loss plan combines reasonable exercise and a balanced eating plan. It is imperative that you schedule workouts several times per week to stay active and energized. If staying motivated to exercise is a problem for you, then think outside the box and try non-traditional exercises. Get your friends to walk with you. If you do not want to walk, consider dancing.


This is always the first bit of advice in a weight loss program, yet very few people follow it. Toss out all the junk food in your kitchen. If your cupboards are clean of tempting foods, then you are much more likely to reach for any healthy snacks you have on hand. Have healthy alternatives at hand instead, such as fruit, vegetables and yogurt. Make not so good choices unavailable to you: if it’s not around you won’t think about it.


Get friends in on the action. Friends are people who will help you in times of need. If you decide to surround yourself with people that are positive and support you in your efforts, you then have a better chance of success in reaching your goals. Your friends can be there to motivate you when you really need it. When your motivation is low, then reach out for support to help you get back on track.
